چکیده

The building sector is known to have a significant environmental impact, considering that it the largest contributor global greenhouse gas emissions of around 36% and also responsible for about 40% energy consumption. Of this, 50% takes place during operational phase, while 10–20% consumed in materials manufacturing, transport construction, maintenance, demolition. Increasing necessity reducing impact buildings has led enhancing not only thermal performances materials, but sustainability their production chains waste prevention. As consequence, novel thermo-insulating or products been developed by using both locally produced natural waste/recycled are able provide good having lower impact. In this context, aim work detailed analysis characterization recycled insulation. To end, behavior different representing industrial residual wastes collected Sardinian zero-km available raw was investigated, namely: (1) plasters with materials; (2) fibers; (3) insulation fibers. Results indicate investigated were improve comfort new existing buildings. particular, mortars fibers showed, respectively, values conductivity (at 20 °C) than 0.475 0.272 W/(m?K), always 0.162 W/(m?K) compounds (0.107 W/(m?K)). Further developments underway analyze mechanical properties these materials.

NUMERICAL TECHNIQUES FOR DIFFERENT THERMAL INSULATION MATERIALS

The objective of this work is to predict the temperature of the different types of walls which are Ferro cement wall, reinforced cement concrete (RCC) wall and two types of cavity walls (combined RCC with Ferrocement and combined two Ferro cement walls) with the help of mathematical modeling. The property of low thermal transmission of small air gap between the constituents of combine materials...

Natural Materials for Thermal Insulation: Mulch and Lava-Rock Characterizations

This paper reports on the thermal characterization, via the thermal conductivity, of natural materials, such as mulch and lava rock and their usefulness as building insulation. Experiments were carried out using a scale one monitored wall (i.e. heat flux and temperature sensors) exposed to a heating source on one side and to an air conditioned space on the other. The wall system was composed of...

A review of unconventional sustainable building insulation materials

a r t i c l e i n f o Building insulation is commonly realized using materials obtained from petrochemicals (mainly polystyrene) or from natural sources processed with high energy consumptions (glass and rock wools). These materials cause significant detrimental effects on the environment mainly due to the production stage, i.e. use of non-renewable materials and fossil energy consumption, and ...

Energy Saving Analysis In Building Walls Through Thermal Insulation System

In this study, we discuss about the energy saving in different type of building walls by using optimum insulation thickness with suitable insulation material. The energy saving is maintained by reducing the energy consumption in buildings. Heat losses from building envelope have a major share in waste of energy. So it is essential to save the energy by using optimum insulation thickness. The in...

Fiber reinforced plastic composites using recycled materials

This work investigates the feasibility of using recycled high density polyethylene (rHDPE), recycled polypropylene (rPP) and old newsprint fiber (ONP) to manufacture fiber reinforced composites. The boards were made through air-forming and hot press. The effects of the fiber loading and coupling agent content on tensile, flexural, internal bond properties and water absorption and thickness swel...
